cool vases: cb2 arm band vases

vases with flowers

as i was browsing through the cb2 catalogue the other day i was drawn to these brass and copper vases - i love the color, and there's a richness to them that appeals to me.  after looking them up online i find them to be even more interesting and "cool".  the description includes the following: "inspired by the coiled metal arm bands worn by the women of Rajasthan, India, these gleaming brass and copper wire vases reflect a cultural tradition.  In this region the quality and abundance of jewelry adorning the women from head to toe is indicative of a family's social status."  i can totally imagine the women and those arm bands when i look at these vases.

these vases are part of CB2 Edition LMTD which are original works that are offered only once in limited amounts.  the vases come in two sizes and i think that they'd look great with a variety of different flowers.  PLUS they come with an interesting story about the designer's inspiration.  check them out here.

cool vases: honeycomb studio

cream and bronze vase

as i was browsing around online the other night (actually, vegging out on tumblr) i came across some lovely images of flowers in these cool vases.  as i clicked through i got to the website of honeycomb studio - "a small batch, handmade porcelain shop created by courtney hamill".  i really like her pieces, especially the vases, and and the prices are quite reasonable.  here are a few of my favorites:

cool vases: jonathan adler utopia collection

man woman bud
in another edition of cool vases i'm spotlighting the vessels from jonathan adler's utopia collection.  these vases primarily take the form of human faces or animals, and they are just adorable.  the collection is described as "playfully chic" on their website, and i would definitely have to agree.  i love the reversible williamsburg vase, shown above.  a few of my other favorites are pictured below.

just a few simple blooms in these little cuties would make a super sweet floral display.  check out the whole collections here.

cool vases: heath ceramics

brown vases

this is a new series for f + l, where i spotlight beautiful vases that (almost) rival the blooms that go in them.  first up, we're taking a look at some of the vases from heath ceramics.  aside from the gorgeous tile and the wonderful dinnerware, they also make a really lovely selection of vases.  i happen to have the good fortune of living in the same town where the heath ceramics factory store is, and i definitely enjoy popping in there whenever i can.  all of their pieces have sort of a "california 70's" vibe, which i love.

ombre

i was in there yesterday and spotted these breathtaking ombre vases - i was smitten.

these were some other beauties that caught my eye (below).

all of the vases have pretty small openings, which = not much plant material, which = an easy arrangement when you're short on time.  bee-you-tee-ful + time-saving - you can't beat that!
